Malta!

From 6 to 13 March I went with my class to Malta for a study-holiday.

Malta is an archipelago in the central Mediterranean Sea (in its eastern basin), some 93 km south of the Italian island of Sicily across the Malta Channel. Only the three largest islands Malta Island, Gozo, and Comino are inhabited. The smaller islands are uninhabited. The islands of the archipelago were formed from the high points of a land bridge between Sicily and North Africa that became isolated as sea levels rose after the last Ice Age.The archipelago lies on the edge of the African tectonic plate where it meets the Eurasian plate.
We went to school in the morning and in the afternoon we visited some cities such as Valletta (the capital), Mdina (former capital), Sliema (the city where I was in a family with Margaret), the 3 cities (Cospicua, Vittoriosa, Senglea) and some museum. We have also seen the reality of the place. Mata is completely different from Italy: The culture, history, cuisine, language (Arabic dialect). Only religion is like ours. We saw a lot of poverty everywhere, in stores a few things that are cheap, the houses seemed to fall off at any moment, but on the outskirts of Sliema, there was the "movida" (in Paceville), the rich part of Sliema with many discos and pubs and this thing surprised me a lot. I really enjoyed it despite the bad weather and the food that was really bad!
Only one thing...how do they drive in the opposite direction that ours?? Really fun.. =)
I hope my teachers often organize trips of this type because these trips help to improve our english and expand knowledge, so I'm hoping that next year will be another trip like this! :)
The photo is our country, Sliema.

The homosexuality.

Hi everybody! :)
Today I'd like to speak about the homosexuality. I'm interested on this argument because it is object of a lot of discussion today. Homosexuality is romantic or sexual attraction or behavior among members of the same sex. It connects with the psychology beacuse was one of the first disciplines to study a homosexual orientation as a discrete phenomenon. The first attempts to classify homosexuality as a disease were made by the fledgling European sexologist movement in the late 19th century. The research and clinical literature demonstrate that same-sex sexual and romantic attractions, feelings, and behaviors are normal and positive variations of human sexuality. The longstanding consensus of the behavioral and social sciences and the health and mental health professions is that homosexuality per se is a normal and positive variation of human sexual orientation.
I conclude by saying that homophobia in the world, in my opinion, should not be there. I'd like to make some questions to the people with a questionnaire and then based on the reply received draw conclusions. I hope your answer is in absolute sincerity.
Bye, Karin. :)
